I knew you would be back. Us Back of the Yarders don't give up. However, 1955 was a long time ago without seeing a photo. I have the same problem. I still have my year books from St Rita to help me.

Many taverns in Chicago had unique designs, stuffed in the middle of the block, corner buildings. There was always a couple of taverns in the neighborhood bars.

I tried deleting or editing their posts with no luck, however, I do belong to a community website called NEXTDOOR where a lead person moderates the posts and remove what they don't think fits into the community discussion. Any thoughts. Rich, You and I are the "Back of the Yarders" We never gave up on a good fight. This seems alot easier, if we had a good IT person.

Living in the Back of the Yards we had alot of prairies or empty lots in the neighborhoods. We use to go spider hunting and put them in jars. Back then you had many banana spiders (yellow and black). We found diamond backs with red diamonds on their back. Daddy long legs, you name it. It crawled we caught it.

I believe one of the older brothers of Tommy Lewis (Gage Park HS) from Oakley Playground went to Tilden. I'm 70 (St Rita HS), Tommy would be as old as my brother 73 (St Rita HS)and Tommy's brother would be maybe 76. Does that help Rich?

How are we going to know what platform they moved to? Maybe they can wipe this forum clean and we can start all over with Forgotten Chicago.

I agree with all you guys. Where are the moderators???? Who's running the store? Don't give up. Keep the posts coming. Make comments on every thing and anything concerning Chicago. Keep our posts on the top of the page. I found this site by accident looking up some of our old gangs in the Back of the Yards. I made 300 posts or comments so far since finding this site in January. Wasn't Karroll's Red hanger store on 63rd and Kedzie? I know that every southsider knows this store: Robert Hall off of Archer Ave.. Every time you walk in the salesmen would stick to you like glue. What about Morris B Sachs?
