I could imagine what that sign is worth. My old Coke sign from the 50's is worth $300 - $400 with no history like the Studebaker sign.

My uncle worked for Salerno as a salesman. He always had cookies around the house. Butter cookies was my favorite growing up in the 50's. You could hold the cookie on your finger and eat around it LOL. We had our Nabisco Cookie factory on the Southside. I remember that delicious smell when we hung around Marquette Park.

Many of the street gangs in the 50's 60's in the Back of the Yards started out playing 16in.softball. At that time, the gangs started out as SAC clubs Social Athletic Clubs. a lot of good players came from our parks. I grew up at Oakley Playground and traveled/played ball in many southside parks in different leagues. Cornell, Gage Park and playgounds like Hermitage, Kostener, Strwhacker, Destiney

Re: Chicago Television of Yesteryear new Posted by: Dunning1 (---.dhs.gov) Date: July 17, 2015 09:00AM You know, that's not really true. Admittedly Andy and the Kingfish were portrayed as buffoons, but Andy, the cab driver, was portrayed as an intelligent, sensitive, wise character. I have heard black people mention a Christmas Eve episode where he adopted an orphan as one of the most

One of the best movie houses when we were growing up in the 50's was the DUMPS. It was actually called the Cornell Theater but everyone called it the Dumps. It was a dump. It was located in the Back of the Yards area 51st and Wood Street. Every Saturday morning every kid in the neighborhood would go to see the cartoons. A place that we could walk to for a fun morning. They had air blown popcorn
