During college I worked my summers at National Can on Central Ave 63 - 66. Went into the Army and came out and started at American Can. 23 years later both companies merged and it became American National Can. Just alittle history of the can business. LOL

I still have my AMF Amflite Magic Line finger tip bowling ball from Maurie Mages that I bought when I was in high school early 60's. They did such a good fit job that I would never give it up. I'm 70 and still keep a 180 average.

Michael Kirby's was a great rink, however, growing up at Oakley Playground at 50th & Oakley in the 50's was perfect. We always had beautiful and smooth ice. Our group would water it down each night to have smooth ice after school. The only thing missing was an organ. LOL

My aunts store was in the middle of the block and it was in the basement of a 2 story home where she lived above the store. It was on the east side of Sawyer.

My aunt owned a small grocery store at 46th & Sawyer. The Colony was one of my favorite shows. My brother Roger worked there when he was in high school from 58 - 61.

We made a plain can and the filler places a paper label on the can. We did make alot of cans for Nestle like the powdered Ovaltine.

Back in the 50's the barbers used a hair product that was actually called Lanolin Encriched made by a company called Winarick and your right it gave you the plastered down look.
