Although this fire occured 8 years before I was born. I heard a story where my a few of my relatives were walking with their friends. Yes, I believe the bowling alley had a fire & was demolished shortly thereafter. However, I believe in later years was a disco roller rink or dance hall.

I also noticed the installation of those lights down 2800 N.Sayre. And on the 6700-7200 block of W.North Av. And even into some of the streets of Forest Park, Ill.

A few more were sighted. Around E 78th in South Shore. A few other ones in the same area. On S.Shore Dr in Jackson Park. On S.Lake Shore Dr near the Stevenson, Around E.14th st near S.Lake Shore Dr.

Would the area around S of Chicago av, E of Halsted count???????. The re-zoned that area probably in the 1950's. But one book showed an interesting picture of the unusual zoning with A British Walker cologne factory surrounding some wooden shacks or 2-flats. With a young boy in overalls playing outside, Circa 1949.

As late as 1967, In one photo. There was a 6-7 story building at 801 N.Milwaukee with a light tower-like top. What was that building?.

There was some scene with a "PARK" sign at night, For some parking around Dearborn????????. Near the Wrigley bldg, At least in the background????????????. Where was THAT place???????????.

It somehow looks like your old home at S.Wolcott no longer exists. I wonder if it was demolished because of a fire in later years or just plain, unfeeling eminent domain??????.

No, This place was on the South side of the W.Hollywood bend. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a meeting or banquet hall for St.Andrews Greek church. But with a 1950's pabst Blue Ribbon sign is rather unusual.
