The Cottage Restaurant was located at 3174 N. Clark. It was owned by former ball player, Fred Hattenberger. There is a May 3rd, 1964 Chicago Tribune article on The Cottage. There was another Cottage Restaurant in Bellwood which I don't believe was related to the Clark Street location.

There is a link to the "Index" which lists Chicago Community Areas with the corresponding date and Volume number (or) letter. Dunning1, How interesting about St. Priscilla and about the rectory being moved. I didn't go there (went to Locke) but did have friends who attended school there and then they grew up and got married at the church. I remember the Quonset hut! The school that was at Narragansett & Addison was Branch #1 of the O. A, Thorp School which is at Austin & Grace.

There were several mid-1950's annexations to the city around the old Big Oaks Golf Club area. I found a few Trib articles about the various annexations with their boundaries noted. This particular article, see link below, seems to include that area you are referring to although the question of why the streets don't line up isn't exactly addressed. While researching another topic "Town of Lake Dairy" I found an S. E. Gross Subdivision marked on a 1903 Map of Chicago which was bounded by the Stockyards on the East, 47th St. on the South, 45th St. on the North and Ashland Ave. on the West. With present day S.
