We lived on Marquette .Rd. Four or five doors east of Delpiorie s taylor shop. There son Tony was a couple years older then my brother and me, we hung around with him after school. They had a small house attached to the taylor shop. We knew someone on every block from Ashland to Damen, 67 th to 69th. We were alter boys, and walked those street in the procession,of the Feast of St May Of Mt. Carmel

next to the rectory, there we a fenced in playlot, along Racine Ave. It was called the priest play ground. Never saw any priest out there. We lived on 79 th. and Elizabeth Ave, across the alley from the Bulko gas station. We would walk to the play ground with our dad. We moved out after the blizzard in 1967,it was a long time ago, but I have many memories of that neighborhood.

lets not forget Granadas Funeral Home on 69th. and Paulina Auv. It was across the street, from Naples Bakery. My brother and I had a Chicago Today paper route, and the Granada family was on our route. We would go out on Tuesday night ,to collect for he paper. The Granada family lived over the funeral parlor.
