Does anyone have an address or any info about the Garbo Studio in Chicago? I've come across a number of photographs of burlesque performers with the 'Garbo Chicago' stamp on the corner so I assume that was their stock-in-trade.

It wasn't that old studio building downtown on State Street, Tree Studios?

Not sure. There isn't an address on the photos I've seen, only 'Garbo Chicago'.

I've seen the mark on photos before, but don't know where they were.

I tried to check around but came up with bupkis. Other than that they seem to have been a big player in that sort of burlesque lobby card photo.

Perhaps Rustymuscle's 1950 phone book, or perhaps advertisements in old issues of Variety.

If you Google performers like Ann Perri, Lupita Peruyero or Denise Darnell a number of the Garbo photos come up. Caution, some might be considered NSFW.

I just assumed given the subject matter that they'd be located maybe near the State Street burlesque theater area, but, like PK said, they seem to have been a big player - maybe second only to Bruno Of Hollywood.

There's a recently-uncovered photo of Lupita Peruyero sitting at a table with Joe Louis and Sarah Vaughan at the Crown Propeller Lounge in Woodlawn ca. '52, which is pretty cool.

Some nice pictures WayOut! I came accross a "Ann Perri Tribute" site and a "A Tribute to "The Jane Russell of Burlesque". Some of the pictures of her photographed at "Garbo Chicago" were taken around 1950's I believe.

I also checking some other sites and if I hear anything I will post it.

@WayOut, I ran this question by J.R. Schmidt of Chicago History Today and he said the only "Garbo" he heard of in Chicago was,

Garbo Productions
Address: 1949 W Eddy St, Chicago, IL 60657

http://www.garboproductions.com/

They have been around for about 25 years only.

The website I contacted, "Ann Perri Tribute" never got back to me. I figured that no one monitors it close.
