The teacher who was in a wheel chair name was Mr. Mike Layden. I think he went
back to school to become a Lawyer. I heard the same about Teddy & more.
Check your PM for my email address.
Just stumbled upon this thread. I graduated from Epiphany in 1975. I didn't realize there were reunions. My brothers graduated in 1964 (I think), 1970, and 1978, and my sister graduated in 1973.
Good seeing the names some of the posters mentioned--I remember them all. I had Mr. Leyden in 4th grade. We used to call him Ironside. I guess we weren't too politically correct back then.
My sister and I went to Maria HS and Mr. Serduik used to drive us to school with Allison and Nicolene.
I worked at Singer--my first job at the age of 15. Is the grandson still on this post? Was Paul or Butch your dad? I worked on 26th street for a few years but used to also work at North Riverside and Matteson when they ran sales and needed help. Paul used to drive me home.
I remember all the store names mentioned, too. Got a basketball signed by Bob Love at Toy & Hobby some time in the 70s. My mom finally moved out of the neighborhood in 2001. Was on her own for about 10 years but has been living with me for about 5.

Linda. My sister (Sue) and then my sister-in-law (Nellie) worked for your dad and Butch for a very long time. Nellie wound up managing the North Riverside store. We knew your parents very well. I remember all of the old guys from 26th street.
Are your parents still living? Your dad would remember us. If I worked to close your dad always drove me home or had one of the other guys do it. I only lived about 3 blocks away. He was very good to us. Butch would remember Nellie, probably not my sister and me. I worked on 26th Street when Willy and Ozzie used to get into fist fights in the back room over "ups".
Nicolene and Allison were my next door neighbors. They and Brian went to my childhood birthday parties. I wish this page would let me post photos. I have a photo of them with me at my birthday party. When I was 6 years old I would play Batman and Brian was Robin.
It looks like you graduated from Epiphany the year before me. I'm sure we knew a lot of the same people and pretty much had the same teachers--Ms. Davis, Mrs. Lorek, Mr. Leyden, Mr. McMullen, Ms. Gatilao, Mrs. Petersen, Ms. Andres...trying to remember them all off the top of my head. And of course the priests--Msr. Cummings, Msr. Hayes, Msr. Enright. We stayed in the neighborhood for quite a long time. My mom just moved out about 14 years ago.
Yes,
I graduated in 1974; moved of of the area in 1975. I still see Marybeth, who graduated with you sometimes. My family & hers have been friends for a long time.
Chuck--Marybeth was one of my bridemaids. We still send Christmas cards back and forth, but I haven't seen her in many years--probably a good 10 or 15. My mom and her mom were very good friends. My brother went to school with either Michael or Mark--I can't remember which.
And FBC2618--then you must know the Babich family. I am still in touch with Donna. She was my best friend through high school.
Hi I'm Frank. Donna doesn't ring a bell. I'd have to see a picture. Did she live on 25th street? Other kids I knew who lived on 25th were Mary Pinkie Metoyer, Karen Bednar, and Stephen Gronkiewicz.
Hi Frank. Donna lived right between the Metoyers and the Gronks on the same side of the street. Their house was the next house West of Metoyers or East of Gronks. I think they were pretty much directly across the street from the Serduiks. They were in the basement apartment--Donna graduated from Epiphany with me in 1975 and her sister Nancy graduated in 1973. Their grandmother and Aunts lived upstairs--the Kendzierski family. Donna and her family moved to Brookfield in around 1977. They had a big German Shepherd named King, if any of that rings a bell.
Karen Bednar was good friends with Nancy. Karen graduated in 1976.
