Can anyone suggest resources (or post their own photos) which show photos of the old Alba Theatre? The site at 4816 N. Kedzie was a parking lot for many years, and now there are newly built apartments for seniors. I watched the construction crew digging out some terrific old foundations last year, including those at the old Alba building.

Try The Theatre Historical Society of America in Elmhurst. They are in the same building as the York theater.

Here is some information from www.cinematreasures.com. While they do not have a photo of the theater, they do post an advertisement for it.

There is a photo in the Trib Historic archives. It is in an article from the 50s about theaters being repurposed.

The Alba Theater became the Alba-A-Go-Go in the late 1960"s. My best friend lived across the alley behind it and on Saturday nights when we had to babysit his younger sister, the noise was deafening. But a good place to meet girls once his parents came home

The phrase "a-go-go" is not used enough today!
