I was surprised to read recently that Diamond T Truck was located on 26th Street too, and the name came from the owner, a guy named Tilt. I guess the factory closed down when White bought out Diamond T in the 1940s.

On an interesting note, today on my weekly browse through the local Goodwill, I picked up a copy of the History of Woolworth's.

Rosemont just redid the whole waterfall on the other side of the river from Fort Dearborn Boy Scout Camp. It's supposed to be dedicated soon. I like Rosemont, am there every day, thinking about moving there, but I always had to crack up at the guy collecting a fee from the wedding parties who had their picture taken in front of the old waterfall.

Do you remember Charlie Matheson? He was my buddy. Also, Chris Tsakiridis, who was one of the elders, is one of my closest friends. Matter of fact we're having breakfast tomorrow.

This is before the current building was built, and he used to usher at the old wooden tabernacle at North and Clark that the present building replaced in 1924. He remained an active usher until he passed away at 102 years old. In any

Actually, Bruce and Ken's had three stores. They had an additional one on Oak Park Avenue between Lake and North Boulevard in the Oak Park shopping area. After closing the stores, Bruce wound up taking a job as a pharmacist at the Dominick's at Belmont and Cumberland until he retired a few years later.

Going down to the waterfall was a big deal when we were kids. My older cousin found out that you could walk behind the waterfall and he found a valve where you could shut off the water. He got banned from the place after that.
