This has nothing to do with shopping at subburban mall as opposed to the city, the whole chain went out of bussiness.

Don't know if anyone can help with this but the date in our present P.O. is 1970. Well I use to look though old local papers and in one from Dec. of 1969, it has an article about it having been open that very month. Now how could this be where an old 1969 paper claims the new P.O. is open at that time and the date inside says 1970.

I understand at one time Cumberland, south of Irving Pk was once called Plebleo. I guess it was changed when the area north of there was built up. Since the street northbound ends up in Park Ridge I figure that the name Cumberland originates there. Which is interesting since the names of streets that cross into the suburbs usually originate in the city. Anyone know what's the story on that?

I don't know about that particular one but many city stations were closed in the 50's on the C&NW lines because the RR was having a lot of problems and the new pesident Ben Heinemen felt it was nccesary to shut down stations that were not as busy.

Also was there another cemetery in that smae area? I ask because I learned through some videos I used to rent from the Park Ridge Public Library dealing with the towms history. One was an interview with someone who was in charge of the Town Of Maine Cemetery here in PR and he mentioned years earlier on moving some graves from a location of Waukegan RD in Morton Grove saying that the city at

I think we need to clarify where exactly on Waukegan this cemetery was. Bewtween Dempster and Oakton there are 2 streets at 2 different places. Shermer at Waukegan which is on the west side of thew street has a park and the east side of Waikegan is still Niles. The other street just north just before Dempster is Caldwell which is wher Morton Grove come in. So which is which?

I heard years ago Waukegan southbound ended Touhy Ave instead of Milwaukee as it does today. I also read that it at one time it continued south of Touhy though perhaps as a different name. If you go into the cemetery there is a road that runs in the middle of it that might of been a continuance and it ends at Albion Ave though there's a gate that blocks anyone from going any further and it's

Anyone ever notice that BK location in Downtown Naperville? Obviously it's an older looking restaurant compared to the more modern ones. Wonder how many of those BK restaurants still exist?
