cmysli- Dr Krafts office was at 52 & Kedzie above the drug store.It was a converted apartment.He & his nurse Josephine were there to help ,but it was a long walk up the stairs.He always drove a Cadillac & would make house calls.He smoked cigars but never at work.I remember him following me into a bedroom at home to give me a shot..He did surgery & was a general physician,he did it

Bwalsh-the driftwood was where we took Chris Karamasenes funny car wrench Johnny Nakaza & his wife marilyn for there wedding dinner,branding iron is where I took my wife 38 years ago for our first diner together.

Are you talking about the allison aircraft engine dragster that rolled & killed the driver at the end of the quarter?I was there & was at the site as the crash truck arrived .I do not remember why I was so far down that day,but I still can see that in my mind.

They also used to race behind the old A&P bakery around 43rd & use the docks as pit areas.I remember HillBilly Bobs chevy & I believe Blue Bandit -also Shake Rattle & RuN at the indoor drags.Also where a lot of races on Archer ave that were instigated out of Henrys drive in on Archer & Cicero.

Dr Frank Krafts office was at 52nd & Kedie above the drugstore-Remember the long staircase going up-I wondered how cripple or very old could get up there.Dr Kraft was the all round Dr,did it all!Smoked cigars & always drove a Cadillac.His nurses name was Josephine & she was with him forever!He brought Me & my 2 sisters into the world at Holy Cross hospital.He made house calls &

Grew up in Sleepy Hollow area around 47th & Cicero!We had the knife sharpener man also had the Rag man with his horse & wagon calling out Rags & Old Iron.There was also a photograper that came around with a pony called Tony who wpuld take kids pictures in cowboy or cowgirl attire.I think most of this was in 1950,s.There also a barber who made house calls,I think his name was Tony also.

On the south side was Bill Becker chevrolet on archer ave -Power ford on archer ave-Balzekas Chrysler Plymouth on Archer ave-Tomczak Dodge on 47th & Pulaski-Lincoln Mercury dealer on Pulaski next to Dog & Suds(cannot remember their name)Ray buick between Cicero & Central on 63rd-and a ton of used car lots!

They had an x-ray machine that was in the shoe department you could put your foot in & watch your toes wiggle which I did many times!Now they are banned.Downstairs was toys & models & Lionel Trains,My 1957 Lionel came from there.They had quite a few Lionel accessories also,

They had indoor drag races ,also indoor USAC midget races.We sat in the balcony once but you needed to cover your face with a cloth to breath.They also hosted The auto shows before McCormick place!
