Patio re-opening?

As a northwestsider I love the Patio movie theater. I was saddened to see it close down years ago, and ever since, watching it sit empty and idle. I loved the interior in its classic old style, which made me feel like I was back in the 1920s or 1930s. Now I am hearing it is re-opening. I have alaways wanted to take my gf out to a movie there!
Does anyone have any extra info on that or is it just wishful thinking?

It looks like it is reopening after all! Does anyone have any memories of this place? I always enjoyed the starlights on the ceiling and the clouds moving across them!
I had a feeling it was built in the 1920s, and its date of building was 1927. WoW! Its too bad they dont build movie theaters like this anymore.

That's easy get your friends together and support them when they open. Become part of the Patio stimulus plan !

I stopped there in Oct 2010 and spoke to the owner and crew of the Patio. They were hoping to open at the beginning of 2011. I will be going back for another photo shoot on their permission.

Artista, you bring back some memories, as kids we used to go to the Patio often. Even though the Commodore/Olympia was closer to our house, it was closed most of the time! Thanks for the pics.

i hope so. i live in the neighborhood and have watched the work for some time. maybe i am dreaming but i am hoping it will be like the music box on southport. that really helped to turn things around in lakeview. it would be wonderful to see all the empty street fronts filled with thriving business just like on southport( and southport did not always look like it does now). good eating places and good coffee shops.

The Patio is re-opening Friday. Too bad it's [i]Thor[/i] for the opener. I plan to go as soon as they show something I'm anywhere near interested seeing.
