Old water tunnel

I was looking at a map of the freight tunnels in the area below River North, and there is a diagonal water tunnel indicated crossing the river between Clark and LaSalle. I would guess it came from the old water tower on Michigan & Chicago, but where did it go to?

Are you sure your not seeing the Lasalle st. tunnel under the river used by the early streetcars?
