I'm looking for photos & information on the old Marvin Glass & Associates building in this location. Anyone have any online resources that they might be able to send in my direction.

I'm also looking for 1940s photos of 1000 N. Lasalle. The building was an apartment building. Very much appreciated

[bIn the 60's i worked at 58 west maple at a TV repaire shop. I wa very familiar with that area running housr calls.. 815 is across from Moody Bible Institute but not sue of 1000 n La Salle 1100 north La Sale yes.][/b]

@zorchvalve, the address you gave, 1000 N. LaSalle came up as 1000-14 N. LaSalle in the 1929 Polk directory. The occupants were Mutual Life Insurance Co. of NY and Chicago Clearing House. It appears that the buildings to the north and south of 1000 N. were all commercial tenants. No apartment buildings on the block.

RJ, the photo that I have was taken in 1939. My aunt assured me that it was on LaSalle at the 1000 corner.She and my other aunt lived across the street and would go to the Shanty bar that was at 1000 Clark street.

Marvin Glass & Associates? They had that infamous massacre there years ago. I remeber the Reader did a fascinating cover story about the business and how generally secretive and high stress the toy design world was.
