Does anyone know what the two pillars on the southwest corner of North and California (Humboldt Park) were from? They look like remnants of something, not monuments.

According to the AIA Guide to Chicago, p. 266, "The concrete bases of lamp standards marking [William Le Baron] Jenney's northeast entrance to the park still stand at the corner of California and North Aves."

According to the same page, Jenney worked on the park from its creation in 1871 to 1877.
