Garfield Park Hospital

Hi,
I was born @ this hospital but can't find anything about it. Does anyone have any knowledge of it such as location? All I found is it was near Madison & Pulaski.

This is an interesting link to the history of many of Chicago's hospitals with several photos. It only lists Garfield Park Hospital in name only at the end of the page.

Garfield Park Hospital was located in the 3800 block of Washington Blvd. on the south side of the street. It was shuttered either in the late '60 or early '70s, if my memory serves me. I'm not sure if the building still exists.

I'm inclined to doubt it...I'm out that way every once in a while on business and can't remember seeing anything like a former hospital building in that area.

There was indeed a Garfield Park Hospital on Washington Blvd. I do not know the year of its closing, but it was operational in the mid 1970's.

Here is a real photo postcard from my collection circa 1909 of Garfield Park Hospital at Washington Blvd. & Hamlin which also served as a sanitarium.
