The Shop on 1700 W 48th with 1940's-50's black or dark color asphalt front

I do believe that place is still some sort of fashion or clothes shop. But it looked like a record shop or music store at one time, What was that place long ago?. If anyone knows?.

[b]Are you sure you got the address right? I lived right down the street from there and it was a yellow brick front with block glass front windows. It was a tavern back then. That's if we are talking about 1700 w. 48th street in the back of the yards.[/b]

Actually it was on the 1700 block, At 1714 or 1716. According to the Cook County Assessor photo.

And not the place that's the clothes shop now. It's a residential place, But still has some dark asphalt or tiling above the front.
