Comments on NW Chicago Historical Mtg - Oriole Park

I attended the NW Chicago Historical Society meeting last night at Oriole Park.
Forgottenchicago was mentioned a few times and I think I shook hands with some of the people responsible for this site.
Several interesting stories were shared, especially by Ralph who runs a canoe shop at 4019 N. Naragansett.
The Society has a great web site at: nwchicagohistory.org
I learned a lot. Thanks and look forward to future events.

hi daveg I wanted to attend that meeting but~~a l a s~~ i had to work. I watched the video you linked. That Ralph seems like such a great guy and full of great memories it seems. I have past by his shop countless times.The HUGE vintage canoes that are stacked on top of each other on the side of the building are eye catchers. On my way to work one of these days I must stop in to say hi to Ralph.

Too bad work got in the way, Artista. I read a bit more about Ralph today. He's quite the interesting person.

Ralph must be a regular on here ,,am i correct? I would have so many questions for him pertaining to the n/w side.

Thanks for the link to the video daveg that was very interesting. I would love to meet Ralph, I definitely wanted to attend but for me that was out of the question.
