I'm trying to help someone find the name of a tavern that was located between 912 and 916 South Western in 1958. She remembers that famous baseball players used to frequent the tavern. Any information would be helpful.

All I could come up with is older years. In 1940 at 914 S. Western was a tavern but I don't know the name. In 1928 at 916 S. Western it was tavern then in 1940 it was butcher shop.

In the 1928 Polk Directory, these were listed for these addresses:

912 South Western, "Kossy Barnett hdw"

914 South Western, "Farley John soft drinks
Vance Geo (Anna)
Weldon Wm"

916 South Western, "Forrante Ralph shoe repr
Giannons Morio"

The building at 914-916 South Western was built around 1889 per CityNews.

Nothing on the 912 South Western building. It is a empty lot now. It might have been torn down around 23 years ago.

If it was listed as soft drinks it could have been a tavern during prohibition.

Yes many in the 1928 directory are listed as soft drinks.
