Another Bertrand Goldberg Building Coming Down?

Lynn Becker at the great blog ArchitectureChicago has posted an extensive post on the possible threat to Bertrand Goldberg’s Walton Gardens at the northeast corner of Rush and Walton, mostly forgotten but still nearly completely intact since its opening 58 years ago. Forgotten Chicago has explored Goldberg’s lesser-known works in the past, including during our FC175 event, and a 2012 walking tour exploring the largest concentration of built and proposed Goldberg work in the world. More links:

I somehow seem to remember that it was a renovation to start with but I could be wrong. Actually, I used to work for the firm who did the Urban Outfitters renovation (before I was there).
