Does anyone know of good Chicago history podcasts? I know of the Pritzker library series, but they don't always do Chicago history. I also know of a few that were done for the Chicago History museum that were personal stories.
What I was kind of looking for was something like THIS, or THIS, or History According to Bob.
I'm also thinking of putting together my own history podcast and I want to make it interesting. I have a few ideas and I want to bounce them off someone, but I'm not sure where to do that.
This is the closest forum I know of for that sort of thing.
It would be about Chicago and the Chicago area.
Ideas:
1. Simple Bi-weekly podcast - just me and some facts with some features thrown in.
2. Simple Bi-weekly podcast with a co-host
3. Chicago History Detective - take something (location, event etc.) and investigate that things history
4. Chicago Time Machine - modeled after Dr. Who and Young Indiana Jones it would be an adventure audio drama following characters as they use a time machine to explore Chicago's past
Thoughts? Ideas?
Thank you.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Personally I would go with #'s 1 & 3, or 2 & 3. To my way of thinking the adventure drama with characters might not be too well received by most interested in this topic.
This was no small project as you will see on your visit to the link. Grab your favorite MP3 player with the podcasts loaded and wander around Lincoln Park looking for the markers and listen to the fascinating stories they tell.

This group has some amazing Chicago historians who love a mystery. I like the History Detective angle....as long as you look to some of the knowledgeable people right here.

This is a very good example of what I'm trying to do with the Chicago Lincoln Avenue Trail. The podcast I was thinking of doing is tangental to the trail's audio guide.
After talking with my wife and kids I think I'm going to have to go with the detective angle. I'm just not sure how to do it.
Does anyone know of a podcast that is formatted like that?
