Marquis Lunch had about a dozen locations around the city, swell little cafeteria diners with interior design typical of the 20's and 30's. The last one I recall visiting was just across from the old Belmont Theater. It seems like these Chicago favorites vanished without a trace; nothing to be found in all the vastness of the internet. From the late 40's to about 1955 my mother worked at Art's Fishery. Owned by Art Jeschke (spelling?) the little store at 3145 West Addison was well-known for the best in fresh and smoked fish and fried shrimp. Does anyone remember Art's and maybe have photos to post?
