Back in the 60s we would take the Grand ave bus to the end of the line by Lake Michigan.There was a water bracker that ran out maybe the lenght of a football field? For .50 cents a guy in a rowboat would take you about fifty feet to the pier. When we were done he would pick us up. At the end of the same block was Zayers store. half a block to the west was a nother store namd Vicks.Then half block East was another store dont remember the name.So within one block theire was 4 stores.I could stand and see all the stores..
