i remember sitting inside when i heard a horn blow. we ran outside and their was a truck with one side open. he had all kinds of beans in different bins like bonza beans,ect. anyone remember this.

Back in the 60s we would take the Grand ave bus to the end of the line by Lake Michigan.There was a water bracker that ran out maybe the lenght of a football field? For .50 cents a guy in a rowboat would take you about fifty feet to the pier. When we were done he would pick us up. The street ran east to west on Cortland00 from California to Western in the 1700 north block. North side of the Tracks.

on cortland along the old train route wich was over head so you could drive under it none as a vidock.THE BRICKS on the stree were about 10 inch . by 6 inch. If i had to guess it was about 10 lbs and it had a shiney red finish. For some reason my back yard was thoes block insted of dirt. A total of 85 bricks.I duged them out and i put them in the crawl space. With the rest i build a wall in the a

i remember in the 60s before our picknik my dad would take us on Western ave in a old factory areal. He would pull up to a dock. Nobody was there but a coin machine that took 75 cents/ When my dad put the money in , then you herd a bang and out of the shoot cam a solid block of ice about 3x2...any one remember this? Forum

back in the late 50s eary] 60s i went to grammer school named Moose..it was around Californiand Wabansia. When i tell my friendsi went to Moose school, they dont believe me.. Anyone hurd of this school?

i grew up around talman and wabansia in the 60s. once every week or two this guy from Duncan would have a contest. He would show us a easy trick to do. The 1st one was easy,.useley it was walk the dog. THEy GOT HARDER as it went on,If you miss you were out. The winner got a new yoyo. The others got a pkg. of strings..

The kids dream. i lived in back of a candyy store. It was called Okries at the corner of Talman and Wabansia. It was strange looking back now. At the end of the same block was Zayers store. half a block to the west was a nother store namd Vicks.Then half block East was another store dont remember the name.So within one block theire was 4 stores.I could stand and see all the stores..

do you remember at Armitage and cicero ? on the n.w. corner was a big company(carpet) on the outside you coould walk up to a water fall that goes all the way down. i remember you had to walk up the size of a 6 story building this wass late 50s early 60s. bobby

looking for name of a store on milwakee ave south of North ave across from Wiebolts store. It was a smaller store and had a sports dept. You had to walk up some wooden stares to get up theire. The 1st. floor han clothing. robert

In the 60s my mother took me to a store on milwaukee ave south of North ave. It was on the west side of the street. It was accrose the street from Goldbatts. It was on the corner. I remember it had a wooden stairs to the sports department. On the first floor was clothing.

Does anyone remember in the 60s a bowling alley at North & Rockwell. It was on the north side of North ave. It was on the 2nd. floor above the dime store. It was called North Bowl.I want to say it had 8 lanes and the owners name was Stan. I bowled their on a kids leauge,it cost 3 games for $1.25. bob
