I've got a pic of this one. I'm waiting to get another 10-12 before I put up another page of old numbers. Sorry for the low quality, this is just a proof scan - I also have pics of Susie's kicking around somewhere. I believe they have good milkshakes, right?

I can't find it on any old maps. Is it currently an honorary street name?

If Mr. Garfield can't find an image of it, the chances of my finding it seem rather unlikely. That said, I'll ask around and keep an eye out for it. I would like to mention - if you're looking to find photos and info about the built environment and civic functions from 1910s on, a great place to dig is the Chicago documents section at UIC's Daley Library, 3rd floor. You'll probably find me the

I believe these are public housing for the elderly. They were built on slum-clearance land during Hyde Park's urban renewal period (late 50s, early 60s). They indeed have windows in the rear, facing the courtyard. However, there are a similar set of private residences in Kenwood which have no windows on the exterior. They do feature an atrium in the center, but you wouldn't know from outside.

Hormel Spiced Ham. We'd object if we weren't guilty of it ourselves. Keith, we'll trade you some long-term ad space on a page or two for a copy of the book. What do you think?

I concur; there are no indications that it came off the Michigan Blvd apartments. Though, I checked the usual fire insurance maps. The only other "name" building (post 1925) was a Met Life Insurance office on the southeast corner. The ornament wasn't necessarily from a corner building though. A mystery begging to be solved...

If anyone notices any problems with the site in Internet Explorer, please let me know. I thought less people would be using it, so I didn't cater to it, but over half of you are. I'd like to correct any problems asap, so please help me out. As much as I dislike IE, I can't pretend it doesn't exist. However, I would like to suggest to Windows users who are using IE to switch to Firefox. Not jus

I've seen others around, but I never realized they were a chain. Should have figured. You should do a post on your blog about these buildings. There used to be one on Belmont and Oakley, northeast corner, that had the cheapest beer around. Then it got condozed. Do you have this location on your list?

About Crilly: The northern stub is a named alley, and I think it was named Crilly fairly recently. Now that you mention it, I've been on it, but totally forgot about it. Either way, now I have to remove it, however, I'll make mention of both Crilly and Mary. Thanks for pointing that out. I think the Tiny Street page is the most mistake-laden thing we've done. Oh well... There are indeed a numbe

Actually, there used to be a street near Moorman, called Mautene Court, which would have been one of the shortest if it still existed. I talk about it on the 31272 page, which you probably noticed. But let me think, resurrected streets...perhaps that's something unto itself. I asked Jake, neither of us could think of any other examples. We'll keep it in mind. Robey Station? Isn't that the s

Kevin, I'm happy to hear that the long version of the Ogden article is being read. I feared the length would be off-putting. Though, for years I wondered why the city would have the gall to actually remove a street - so I put my curiosity to rest writing that article. Its good to see that others also want to know. About Moorman Street, you're right, at 28 address points, its a little too lon

The seediest appropriate topic would probably be the Lincoln Avenue motels, which are rapidly disappearing. I don't know... Do you still live in the city, Mike? We should meet up if you do. You probably do. Serhii
