i was driving around in hegewisch the other day, and spotted a railroad line around 133rd street. The line runs north in between green bay st and mackinaw then curves then runs straight north to the "east side" neighborhood near the skyway. Does anybody know if this line is still used? if it matters to the op, there is an antique store in braidwood illinois that is right beside interstate 55 at reed rd and it is a red building with a bunch of old gas station signs on the outside. Anyway they have 43rd and talman yellow signs. The people who owned it were from brighton park and were from shields and kelly hs. hopefully they have those signs still!

Just learned about this site and found some awesome stories. I was going through the old neighborhood 'brighton park' and was telling my son about the past. I remember when there was a texaco gas station by budweiser on 48th and California. I also remember that in the mid to late 90s, part of the old campbell soup building burned down behind the gas station which is now a speedway formerly a marti
