In the mid '60s - '7os it was indeed an auto parts store named Major Motors. They were a small local chain that sold parts and tires. They would add a rather large toy department around Christmas, at least at that location.

I went there as a kid for the Sportsman Show and the Custom Car shows, then as a teenager to see Yes in-the-round and Van Halen.

I had been to the one on 63rd St. several times when I was a kid, used to love it!

Wow, I recognize that area! I believe High-Low was the next door East and the building in the Google street view is actually the old Czimers meat market that was eventually located out West of Orland Pk. If I recall, the buildings were side by side, so close as to seem as one, and shared the same façade. Used to walk there with my mom to go shopping at the High-Low. Sometimes we'd go into Czime
