Has anyone any memories or information on a restaurant called The Villa, near 67th and Marquette in the 1950s? My grandfather and his family ran it and there are no longer any family members who remember it. I came along a little too late to know it. My Grandfather's name was Jim Poulaki. Thanks much.

The Englewood Union Station was at 63rd near La Salle and Wentworth. Rode the Rock Island from downstate from 1963 until the trains came off in 1978. The station was a victim of arson in April 1975. The Peoria and Quad City Rocket both made positive stops outbound and stopped to discharge passengers only inbound. The last passengers I recall seeing get off were two very well dressed women back

This is slightly off topic, because it happened last week, but I swear I saw Taylor Kinney from Chicago Fire at the Churchill Field dog park. The man was wearing a hood, but I could see his face clearly. It was the slight gap-toothed smile and scruffy beard that tipped me off. Anyone know if he has a dog? Is he living in Bucktown or Wicker Park? Cheers, Jeff

There was the first time I had a tongue sandwich. They also had the best roast beef and corned beef (which I really never cared for). There was very little space between the tables and if you went in during the lunch rush good l

Yes, Bloomingdale, that's it. So Moos Elementary took over the old coal yard. If memory again serves, the telephone number painted on the side of the coal yard's building or wall was DIckens 2-3000. Cheers, Jeff

I'm not sure. Perhaps it was over on California. I'm certain it was north of Wabansia and south of Milwaukee. I recall this from the early 1980s, so my memory may be (read "is") fuzzy. Thank you for looking at it. Regards, Jeff

I recall a Marty deMars restaurant across Van Buren from the old La Salle Street Station. The best malteds and grilled cheese sandwiches a kid could have. Was that part of the same chain?
