I might add that there's an ongoing series on the Trolley Dodger (www.trolleydodger.com) about the CA&E, and eforts to save the line before total abandonment.

The CTA had something called the Rider's Reader. The Trolley Dodger is looking for some copies that are gaps in his series, to add to a DVD he sells with scans of them.

Speaking of the old Logan Square L, does anyone have any idea what the CRT's plan was to create a peripheral elevated line off of the old terminal? I read about it, but nobody had any details.
