Palermo's, hands down. Only the one on 63rd and Hamlin. I know the owner Frank, and business is still going great. I just had some last week, and it is still the reason why I was obese as a child!

There is a food store on the corner of 61st and Kildare in the West Lawn neighborhood...it has been around for at least 20 years...

If you look at a map of Chicago, there are actally three streets missing - 17th St, 20th St, and 29th St. If you measure the distance between Roosevelt Road and Cermak Road, it is exactly one mile. However, according to the addresses, Roosevelt is at 1200 S, while Cermak is at 2200 S. The two streets (17th and 20th) might have been dropped to accomodate the fact that that even though there ar
