The arcade near Palwaukee was called Just Games. They have several locations around the suburbs, including one in Mt Prospect, just blocks from my home. There was a shooting at the Mt Prospect location in the late 1970s, and the place wasn't long for this world after that.

Some of my favorites from the late-80s/early 90s when I was first working in the Chicago Board of Trade Building: - Yee Wall: Chinese place next door to the Chicago Board of Trade on the Wabash side. Jewel stopped being "local" in 1984 when it was purchased by American Stores. The Albertson acquisition happened later. As adgorn points out, there were several Kroger Stores in the Chicago area. I grew up near the Kroger in the Mt. Prospect Plaza ("Rand and Central" above). It became a Dominick's in the 1970s when Kroger left the market. I remember the A&P Food Stor
