always enjoy reading your works Karen.I went to Old Chicago but was very little then.I often went to a place in Justice called Playland Park which was great.I also miss the Bolingbrook wave pool:(

does anyone remember National Starch Little League/Cinder Field? It was located around 35th Washtenaw behind the National Starch factory.I'm looking for pics.

the league did pretty well for itself.however with the racial makeup(and no please i don't mean it bad) changing it really led the league to pretty much barely hang on.in 1990 i think it was a massive amount of rain fell on chicago and really had town of lake fields in horrible shape.they used to lite the puddles on fire to get rid of them(don't ask have read that from baseball players who played

Does anybody recall watching this Mexican(Lucha Libre) Chicago Pro Wrestling promotion on tv WCIU 26 on Saturday Afternoons or in person @ the Uptown Theater? Anybody recall who wrestled here? Thanks!! from 1980/1981

remember the Scot-Lad food trucks? The ones with the Scotish guy on the sides.And how about Colony Foods south siders? One in Hometown & one was in Clearing.Not sure of any others

Scottsdale Ford City Little League(SFC) they went under due to the fact that the area had changed(for the worst) & many kids who had played there had moved away.Solo Cup had donated the extra land for the kids.Originally Ford City Little League was @ 76th Pulaski.Rd/Ford City Drive until Daley College kicked them out.Bogan Youth Baseball Association briefly played there.Scottsdale Little Leagu

anybody remember this pro wrestling promotion? toughest half hour on tv.wrestled in nw indiana,wisconsin,chicagoland & filmed interviews in a bar.it ran from 1982 to 1991 with it being on tv around 86 or 87.it wasn't windy city wrestling.this was different.tony "razor" devito,terry "hammer" scholl,reynolds brothers,ect

I'm trying to do a webpage on old Chicago/Chicago area Little Leagues/Baseball Leagues.Maybe you can help.Name the league,where it was located & if you have a picture to send my e-mail is wow1029@aol.com If the league is still going old locations are good.Clear Ridge for example has had it's fields in many many spots like Midway Airport I heard,ect,ect.

I swear that sign said in cursive Starch as in National Starch but that was further down around 35th Rockwell.I think back in 75 @ Back Of The Yards Little League on 55th Oakley they had Little League Illinois Sectional Championship.BOTY Little League was seperate from Back of the Yards Baseball which was 47th Damen.

Ford City Little League played @ 76th Pulaski/Ford City.Dr(Daley college) as did Bogan Youth Baseball Association.Ford City got kicked out of Daley College & merged with Scottsdale Little League which started where Goldblatt's was then moved behind 83rd Cicero in Burbank.Scottsdale Durkin played @ Durkin Park with Crestline Little League briefly which had been kicked out of Rainey Park.Bogan B

does anyone remember that sign on the corner of 47th & damen with the flag on it? i'm looking for a picture.i forgot what it said.it was where the ballfields were.why did they get rid of the damen overpass? i remember it stunk over there lol
