I recall a place called Flo's, on the south side of Randolph, between State and Dearborn. Great burgers there. There was also a good coffee shop-type place on Madison, just off of State, called 'Round the Clock. I used to go to a Wimpy's off of state. Can't remember if it was Adams or Jackson but it was near a Mr Submarine.

We used to go to a little corner grocery store at Milwaukee and Wisner. During the Big Snowstorm of 1967, we stopped at a corner store at Central Park and Diversey to buy supplies. Not sure why we didn't go somewhere closer.

The Klaus was on Milwaukee, at Dawson, across the street from the original Abt Electronics. I lived about a half a block down, on Dawson, in the 1960s. On February 1, 1985, there was a massive arson fire in the old Klaus building. Three Chicago firefighters died trying to put out the fire. The last time I was in the old neighborhood, there was still a memorial to the firefighters at the bank on
