How about the little tags they used to have on the street signs for the guys on the block killed in WW II?

Sometimes guys trailered gassers out there and raced down North. One sometimes saw acid-dipped Mopars. And sleepers; 350 HP 327 Chevy II sedans with bench seats and 427 Ford Galaxy 2 door sedans and such. A pal had a cheap green 350-327 65 Chevelle---2 door sedan with bench seats and blackwall tires and 283 flags. Looked like an Grandpa car. Until he got on it.

There used to be an Italian place with pretty good pizza on the south side of Van Buren around LaSalle, back in the 1960s, I used to go there when I was runner at the Board of Trade. I can't think of the name, anybody remember?

I only recall the Jimi Hendrix Experience playing once in Chicago; the show was at the Auditorium Theater, I was at the show.

I went to Austin HS in the mid 60s and would ditch school and take the EL downtown for the day. I ate often at the Wimpy's on Randolph and those $1.29 steak places; one at Van Burn and Wabash and one on Randolph.
