I was afforded a treat to see Maier's work in a gallery. I was ignorant of it until I went to see a friend's showing in the same gallery. Just amazing photographs. They get a bit depressing later in her life but still just great slices of life in the city.

The freight elevators at the Mart are original. Their motors have been serviced and parts replaced, but they are manually operated still. I can get some pictures of the control boards, and they are something to see (and hear), All the passenger cars have been modernized in the building save the two elevators at the very west end of the building known as the combo cars. Next of Kin with Patrick Swayze. He's riding on top of the L (ya know, like you do) downtown. There's a big battle in Rosehill Cemetary at the end.
