I'm a person who likes to look forward in life, but that doesn't mean forgetting the people I've known in the past. We shared four years of experiences as "Madonnians." Why not have some fun sharing memories? And, who knows? Maybe some old friendships will be renewed, or even some new ones formed! Oh, I was Rita McDonough back then.

I loved Klaus! It had the best quality goods in the area. And it seems this thread is following Goldblatt's, too. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of that store is the popcorn! I can literally imagine the smell and taste! Horrible stuff, but I have to admit, I liked it, and had some every time I went there. We didn't know any better back then, did we?

Frenchies? Sounds like it might have been the inspiration for that Saturday Night Live skit that John Belushi did with Dan Akroyd. Belushi was from Chicago, born in 1949. Did you ever see it? I worked at an Open Pantry on Armitage and Monticello when I was 14. I think our biggest selling items were cigarettes and Boone's Farm. It was a pretty cool little general store, though.
