It was a big deal for all of us to go to Talman's on payday, and I remember the donut holes that were served, and sometimes live music.

Does anyone remember a restaurant named "Gold Coast" not too far from Marquette Park? We used to go there on Fridays for the perch. Right next door was a Nazi headquarters place with a big flag in the window. As a kid, it always made me look awhile.

Hi, I remember Gerties right nest to the Colony, with the homemade ice cream, candy and Tummy Busters! And Rainbow Icecream, what a popular but simple idea. Only open in the summer, used to go after my older cousin had baseball games.
