One of the first I saw who was using the new Brunswick Crown Jewel when bowling the sweeper at Bowler's Club on Roosevelt Rd. Shot 635 and won it.

Never was there...too young, but this house always comes up when any talk about action houses is initiated. Most of the guys hanging around were Italian back in the 60's

Still in business---new owners---took out lanes 9-16 and put in a stage for bands...remodeled, but still has some of the old features like the balcony locker area and the old AMF machines on lanes 1-8.

Bleeker's Bowl is very much closed as of about 6 months ago. The owner auctioned off all of the fixtures and the machines. Not sure if the building is still standing, but they are positively history.

Humboldt Bowl used to run the Hochsteter (sp?) Tournament back in the 60's before Paul Krumske moved it to Spencer's Marina City Bowl.

Believe it or not, the alleys in the basement of St. Mary of the Angels are still there. Not being used for bowling, just storage. This was about 10 years ago. I graduated from there in the late 60's. For bowling in a church, folllow this link: http://stjohnschicago.org/bowling-rentals/ Go have some fun.
