No: This was a family plot on top of the hill and not a part on any cemetary. It had several graves and an iron fence around it. Was about 20 X 20 in size. Above the bargan place and resturant on Archer west of willow springs road. This one wasn't too far south; Harlem south of Ogden. I am referring to The Dumpling House. A nice homey place serving a European menu (Bohemian mostly). It was still around in the '90s. Up Harlem north of Ogden was/is the Riverside Restaurant. Same food; a bit cheaper. Don't know if it still exists but it was a real bargain. Does anybody have any information on the TB Sanitariums that existed on Cermak nr Harlem in North Riverside, And the one on 13200-13300 S.Brandon in Hegewisch. And when they closed down?. The sanitarium near Harlem and Cermak was purchased by Concordia Teachers College in the late 60's or early 70's. The funeral home mentioned above is the Griffin Famiy Funeral home, the gentleman was Ernest Griffin whose grandfather was a guard at Camp Douglas. The funeral was on land that once was part of Camp Douglas. Mr Giffin built a memorial war in the parking lot of the funeral home to honor those who were at Camp Douglas, both Confederate and Union.
