Anyone know what happened to the excellent website Jazz Age Chicago? It seems to be down. Wonder if it's temporary or if anyone knows anything about its demise? Thanks.

Somehow, I think there's a possibility that the site may have been hijacked from some unscrupulous entity. That actually happened to some other website similar to nostalgic realms or places.

Many - but not all - Internet sites are 'archived'. Jazz Age Chicago happens to be one that has some archival copies.

You first go to the Internet Archive Wayback Machine page (a tribute to Mr. Peabody & Sherman's Wayback Machine, no doubt) at:

Then in the address bar, enter the URL for the page you'd like to see, then click the 'Take Me Back' button.

Sometimes images and graphics weren't embedded so they may be missing. If the page has something you'd really like to save, it would be wise to copy it, or print it to a PDF file and save it on your own PC.

The Internet Archive also has thousands of archived documentary movies from the Silent Era up through today which are searchable from their home page.

@rjmachon - Yes, it was Scott Newman's Jazz age Chicago

Thanks for the replies. The site was well-researched and handsomely presented. A shame.
