As late as 1967, In one photo. There was a 6-7 story building at 801 N.Milwaukee with a light tower-like top. What was that building?.

According to the Polk Criss Cross Directory, in 1929 it was called the
"Tower Grove Bldg".

But it's disappearance predates my specific knowledge of the area.

I think the Preservation Chicago site has a photo of it, actually...it's under the 'Vanishing Urban Corners' section, last photo.

Is this it?

This is going back to the '50s,if I remember right the first floor was
occupied by Hanes grocery store.
