Hey Spike,

A little searching turned up this document online.

Chicago Street Names

If you scroll to the D's, there are a few entries regarding Dole - a Dole Avenue on the North Side, since renamed to Drummond Place, just north of the intersection of Clark and Wrightwood; and a Dole Street in Bridgeport. It seems that what is now 28th Place in Bridgeport was formerly Napoleon Place, and before that, Dole Street - but it was already Napoleon Place by the 1860s, so I would think that wouldn't be the one! Do you have any more information - an address for the house, or a photograph, or do you know whether it would have been in Bridgeport or the north side (or somewhere else)?

-Kiernan
