Does anybody know the firehouse number? I used to go there with my father when I was a little girl and for the life of me I can't remember the number.

TIA

Sorry, I had it in my title...

The fire house was on Clinton and Washington, right on the corner of those two streets.

If I remember correctly this firehouse survived the Chicago Fire. I can remember going down on the first floor and there were still remnants of where they kept the horses. It was torn down many years ago and now a parking lot is there.

A suggestion: The Newberry Library at http://www.chicagoancestors.org/#tab-tools has Chicago City Directories for the years 1910 and 1923. In those two directories, you may find the address of the fire station listed in the beginning pages of the directory. And, since it was near the corner of Clinton (540 West) and Washington (100 North), the old address should be near one or the other street numbers..

I hope this is helpful.

According to a retired CFD Battalion Chief, who is a CFD historian: Truck 2 was the assigned company to that firehouse located at Clinton and Washington.
The third floor was occupied by The Firemans Mutual Aid Fund. And, the First Division Marshall was also assigned there.

When the firehouse closed, Truck 2 was relocated to 324 S Desplaines.

The building was later used as a CFD supply warehouse before being sold.

That location still houses training classes and offices for CFD command.
