Does anyone recall The Cottage Restaurant on North Clark St.
near Wrigley Field back in the 60's? It was a popular hangout
for the ballplayers. Seems like no one remembers this place.

I know it was there in 1966 because a cousin had
dinner there with Mike Shannon and Tim McCarver
of the St. Louis Cardinals when they were in town
for a Cubs game.

The Cottage Restaurant was located at 3174 N. Clark. It was owned by former ball player, Fred Hattenberger. There is a May 3rd, 1964 Chicago Tribune article on The Cottage.
There was another Cottage Restaurant in Bellwood which I don't believe was related to the Clark Street location.

Thank you so much for responding and giving me the info and address
of the restaurant. Watching the All-Star Game last July and seeing
Tim McCarver brought back memories of the restaurant, and I have been
trying to pinpoint the exact location ever since. Thanks again.

Hi Lois. You are most welcome! If you would like the Trib article on The Cottage Restaurant from 1964, just send me a PM. I'd be more than happy to email you a copy.
