Located between Van Buren and Congress

See: South State Street Vice District, 1944

South State Street, 1941

Rialto Theatre 336 S. State Street

In the Herbert Ashbury book Gem of the Prairie: An Informal History of the Chicago Underworld, the west side of State Street from Van Buren to Harrison, was the heart of "Whiskey Row"; where every building was occupied by a saloon, wine room, and gambling house.
