Does anyone remember the art project, started back in the 1960's, to repaint all the roof water tanks in bright colors, and number them consecutively? I remember some were done in/around Old Town, but wonder if any have survived.

Hehe I'm reminded of grandios Pot-induced hippie / Flower Child plans not panning out due to diminishing motivation. :P
I don't recall seeing any and between 1970-75, I regularly climbed a few to sit on the creaky wooden decks that ring the perimeter and take in the view.

Along some of the highways out of the city some did get fancy paint jobs & Town names.

--I seem to remember two "twin" tanks at or near North and Wells being painted and numbered "1" and "2" back in the seventies. I thought it was unique to those particular tanks. I had no idea that they were the first in a series (although I never came across any other numbered tanks).

The water tank at Clark and Foster in Andersonville has had the Swedish flag painted on it for years.

Thought I'd post this again, and see if anyone else remembered it.
