Does anyone have information on a Boys School for Theives in Chicago? I saw this on an old Chicago map about the Levee or Red Light District. This would have been late 1800's early 1900's.

I know Montefiore School was a Catholic school where kids who wouldn't quit start starting trouble went. It was very popular years ago. I know there still is a Montefiore school in Chicago but not sure if they run it like they use to years back?

It was around 1200 s peoria. When I rode the Halsted street car going north they would come on and tear up the car and cause trouble with the passengers. That was in the 50's.

In the 50's I went to St.Michaels at 48th & Damen and us guys would talk about Montefiore many times especially when the nuns would scold for doing something that we shouldn't have done, like playing in the SWAMPS at 47th Street before the baseball fields were built.
