Very cool link! I love finding these old faded signs from the past.

Not sure how up to date these are. The Marzano's Miami Bowl sign at Archer and Karlov was knocked down like 6-7 years ago.

A recent ghost sign showed up in Skokie on the northeast corner of Dempster and Bronx Ave., on the east wall of the corner building. It's in great shape.

Although this isn't a ghost sign in 1968 it very well could be now. In the photo is one of my brother's school buddies. I couldnt say exactly where this pic was taken except that it was most certainly on the west side -North and Pulaski area. Does anyone recognize what company may be advertised on the wall? ( the picture border states Nov 1968, our family never finished a film roll all at once)

That's a great photo. It looks like the sign says 'USED & SAMPLE RUG MART', in part.

Very cool old Pic, Artista! I bet someone out there will be able to solve the mystery of that "Rug Mart" company.

Just wanted to mention to other ghost sign seekers that, as I was riding the L the other day, I noticed there are a bunch of ghost signs on buildings along the north side CTA Red Line from about Lawrence to the Loyola station. One of these days I'll try to get to the Edgewater/Uptown area and photograph as many as I can before they are gone.

Obscured mostly by the red truck and under the main lettering looks like "LINOLEUM" or maybe "& LINOLEUM"

A fairly new uncovering on North Av.

A friend of mine has the electrified "M" from Miami Bowl hanging in his livingroom.

There's a remaining Miami Bowl marquee sign on Pulaski near Archer, in a parking lot between Roberts Auto Repair and Family Dollar. Some of the letters are still in place advertising open bowling anytime.

What ever happened to Miami Bowl? Is Frito Lay still behind it?
