Found this great article on the history of the area in and around today's MCA by Pamela Bannos. She also wrote the article on Lincoln Park's cemeteries entitled Hidden Truths.

Love that stuff, thanks for the link. Great to see the many, many maps documenting the development of a legendary part of the City.
Pamela Bannos did a similar treatment of the old City Cemetary which became Lincoln Park. The sections on the Couch mausoleum are fantastic.
