The original boudaries of Bucktown before the real estate agents stretched them, had three public school buildings. I am looking for any additional information then what is detailed below or any memories of anybody who may have gone to Langland or Logan. In addition, the Chicago Tribune did not have a story with any details of a fire that burnt the original Pulaski school building in 1944. Can anybody provide any details?

Logan Continuation School[/b]

School was located at 2238 N, Oakley. Building was built in 1889, School operated as a elementary public school until 1949 when the new Pulaski school was built. Building was then used as a continuation high school until 1972,

Building was razed in 1973 and turned over to the Chicago Park District. Currently site of Senior Citizens Memorial Park.

Langland School[/b]

School was located at 2230 Cortland. Built in 1884 with an addition added in 1904. The school operated until 1940 when it was then used as a warehouse for the Chicago Public schools. Apparently after the 1944 Pulaski school fire, the building was converted back to a school until 1949. Once again it was used as a warehouse until 1959. The building was razed in 1961 .

In 1964, the Chicago Public Schools allowed the Chicago Park district to build as Langland playlot. Ten years later it was renamed Daisy Park and later renamed as Erhler Playlot Park. Property was transferred to the Chicago Park District I 1998.

Pulaski School[/b]

Currently located at 2230 West Mclean.

After the fire, the students were assigned to Langland School at 2230 Cortland and Logan School at 2238 Oakley.

The current three story building with 29 classrooms was built facing Mclean and opened in September 1949.

School was later renamed Pulaski Fine Arts Academy and is currently called Pulaski International School of Chicago.
